[this is a work about perception- there no image on the screen just yet.
it isn't about the perception of small facts, it isn't about the physiology of perception.
it's about the perception of self, it's about the meaning of truth.
the definition of fact.
this is a work about being done to.
this is a work about learning how to think:
what is the same, what is different?
what is outside, what is inside?
like man is chicken, only here we deal with egg;
it is a documentary record,
it's about scrutiny on a mass level.
about what has been and what could be
this is a work about coercion.
coercion can be quick and brutal; that is the worst crime.
coercion can also extend over the whole of life; that is the ordinary, the usual crime
bureaucratic crime can be brutal or merely devastating. we need not make a choice.
evil demands only the systematic substitution of the abstract for the concrete.
it demands only the de-realization of the human status of the people on who you carry out your ideas and plans.]
[some of you have been living freely for decades,
and others of you are still wondering how you can possibly live the lives that you were born to lead.
but no matter how isolated, no matter how afraid,
and no matter how alone you may feel today, know this:
that we see you, we stand with you,
and we will do everything we can to protect you going forward.
and please know that history is on your side.
this country was founded on the promise of equal rights for all,
and it may not be easy, but we will get there together.]

[what he promising that's so dangerous?
you'll know the truth,
but that truth doesn't correspond to what's in the streets.
that's the reason he's dangerous.
if you want to be a revolutionary,
talk about the truth.
if you really wanna to be dangerous,
speak the truth.]

[is it really a male? oh, no, this is uh, female, my mistake
i keep calling them "he"'s but he's really a female-
she's really a female, i should say]
[sure, you gotta love, principal
but don't say "hate is my enemy"
what'd they say, what's that words, "love is the only weapon"
shit! bullshit!
bullshit! "love is the weapon with which i got to fight,"
i've got a hell of a lot of weapons to fight!
i've got my claws! i got cutlasses! i got guns, i got dynamite!
i got a hell of a lot to fight!
i'll fight, i'll fight, i will fight, i will fight, i will fight, i will fight!
let the night roar with it!]

conversation represents
flight towards a new blissfulness
appearance blessed proclivity
forms of contrast gave to me
uncovered lovers
mind a thought from diamonds never given
jewelry considered unwanted
by those who never listened
corner curve the edge of your bed,
a warmth develops
living in embraces never planned,
a slow danced other
[there came a time where,
i had to say goodbye to all my friends.
and then i knew, know i was wondering,
are they my friends? what's a friend?]
[i think if you're not careful, and you,
involve yourself with too many friends,
you won't be a friend to yourself.
so, i think it's cataclysmic,
that you come to a point where you say,
i need to know, who i am, what i am, me,
i need to know me,
and then you, migrate to another planet,
and then you find yourself, and you say,
thank you, to all the stars, and planets, and all everything,
and you become happy?
because you've reached this level of understanding.]
[that's it.
that's it? i don't feel like i got the ending.
that's because it doesn't end.
no, but there's an idea, that kinda has an ending.]
[i just think it's important to understand who you are,
and not to put a thousand, a million, a zillion, uh, distractions
that keep you going, but you... don't... really... understand...]
[each person that tries to see beyond his own time must face the question to which there cannot yet be absolute answers.
there was a therapy happening! but all it leaves you with are memories... and memories aren't where it's at. getting to where it's at is a long search...
well i don't see that way,
i mean i feel like, as long as there's life, there's hope.
that's my faith...]

oh, falling leaves signify
times that gone unknown
the violet skies and pretty eyes
leave the nevers known
soul spent and heart tied
the words would never come
but seeing who i drift upon
completes the withered sum
[this time, maybe it's true...]
there was a universe for us to live together,
far from the mass of space and time.
there was a world for us to live and share forever,
but somehow we wasted time.
and now you're taking your love away,
and if you have to go well it's okay...
just please remember happier times
and when you leave say goodbye...
goodbye...
[we are able to see the whole earth now, just over a minute along the journey.
the earth diminishes into the distance,
but those background stars are so much farther away,
that they do not appear to move.
a line extends at the true speed of light,
in one second it half crosses the tilted orbit of the moon.]

[for those who can hear me i say, do not despair.
the misery upon us is but the passing of greed,
the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.]
[the hate of men will pass, and dictators die.
and the power they took from the people
will return to the people.
and so long as men die, liberty will never perish.]
[don't give yourself to brutes!
men who despise, enslave you, who regiment your lives,
tell you what to do or what to think or what to feel!
who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder!
don't give yourself to these unnatural men!
machine men! with machine minds, and machine hearts!
you are not machines! you are not cattle! you are men!
you have the love of humanity in your hearts!
you don't hate!
only the unloved hate, the unloved and the unnatural!
don't fight for slavery! fight for liberty!
in the 17th chapter of st. luke it is written,
the kingdom of god is within man,
not one man nor a group of men!
but in all men! in you!
you the people have the power,
the power to create machines,
the power to create happiness,
you the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful,
to make this life a wonderful adventure!
then in the name of democracy,
let us use that power!
let us all unite!
let us fight for a new world!
a decent world!
that will give men a chance to work,
that would give youth a future,
and old age a security.
by the promise of these things,
brutes have risen to power,
but they lie, they do not fulfill that promise,
and they never will!
dictators free themselves, but enslave the people!
now let us fight, to fulfill that promise!
let us fight to free the world!
to do away with national barriers!
to do away with greed!
with hate and intolerance!
let us fight for a world of reason!
a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness!
soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!]
[wherever you are
look up!]
[the clouds are lifting,
the sun is breaking free,
we are coming out the darkness.]
[we are coming into a new world,
a kind world,
where men will rise above their hate,
their greed,
their brutality.]
[the soul of man has been given wings!
and at last, he is beginning to fly,
he is flying to the rainbow,
into the light of hope, into the future,
that belongs to you, to me, and to all of us.
look up!]

as i begun my route home
my mind took the back roads alone
almost crashed through a road guard,
couldn't see through tear shards
when it started to get dark
almost put the car into park
didn't want to leave anymore
even if she already left port
too many things running through my head
too many lanes, i'm stressing till i'm dead
till i'm dead
four twenty one
foggy as can be
four twenty one
always lie to me
four twenty one
never been so cold
four twenty one
am i getting old
four twenty one
foggy as can be
four twenty one
always lie to me
four twenty one
never been so cold
four twenty one
am i getting old
don't know what to do with my hands
feel so empty so restless
stream of consciousness complaining messes
four twenty one
foggy as can be
four twenty one
always lie to me
four twenty one
never been so cold
four twenty one
am i getting old
she'll be back another day
another time another place
let me know when you're home
wanna be there when you roam
love it always seems so gray
when you hear the lyrics say
"i never let you feel the right way"
i hope we're there
we'll be there
anywhere i go i want to be with you
just be strong for me
i'm trying everyday
i know it hurts but we have no say
physical distance never lets us leave
holds me up, a needle in my sleeve
the futures it infects daily near and necks
love bites unwritten love taps ungiven
hand squeeze i'll hold a queue for you
i miss you every day
and i'll never be the same.
i'll never be the same...
four twenty one
foggy as can be
four twenty one
always lie to me
four twenty one
never been so cold
four twenty one
am i getting old...

me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
memories fade of who i never was
we color in the pages
with a new set of love
time becomes a canvas
to draw and find again
you paint me and i'll paint you
vibrancy that's oh so true
palettes that fade retain the same glory of the artist that went away
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
it won't last forever
but maybe it will
the truth of it known by
stars and our will
flowers pollinate all the futures to be
beauty unknown sight unseen
passion's overflows always grow
last times rehearse the first
tears in rain hurt every single day
hearts revolving planets in an orbit
the escalators i want to see again
and other reasons i'll never cry again
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
me and you oh,
me and you
